Monstermakers Intensive
SCULPTURE CLASS
Instructor: Brett Sylvia
When: September 19 – October 26, 2023, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4-7 p.m. Optional Saturdays.
Where: Underground studio in Riverside, RI
What you will learn: History of sculpting, monster character development and storytelling, casting and molding (hands/feet/face), painting and finishing your work.
Only six students accepted: students must be at least 16 y.o. to register. No experience necessary.
Beginners are encouraged to join.
Cost: $425 if you register before Sept 15, $600 after Sept 15. All materials supplied – just bring a sketchbook and pencil to class.
About the instructor: The creator of OP the Cyclops and Magda the Laundry Monster, Brett Sylvia worked at Disney World as puppeteer/performer, holds a BFA from MASSART and an MFA from UMASS. His work has been exhibited in public, galleries, print, on video and on stage in New England and beyond.
